This handcrafted saya features a Shuro-nuri (棕櫚塗) finish—an intricate lacquer technique that mimics the fibrous texture of palm bark. Fine streak-like patterns are suspended within the deep brown lacquer, creating a natural and organic appearance with subtle depth and character. The result is a surface that feels warm, earthy, and refined, making it especially prized for understated yet distinctive koshirae mounts.

The koiguchi (mouth), kurigata (cord knob), and kojiri (end cap) are crafted from polished natural horn, ensuring structural durability and organic elegance. Each saya is individually handmade, ensuring precision, visual harmony, and lasting durability. The overall presentation is dignified, textural, and refined—ideal for mounting as part of a complete koshirae, or appreciated on its own as a lacquered art object.
