What Is a Tsuka（柄）?

The Tsuka（柄） is the handle of a Japanese sword and should be fitted to the individual Nakago（茎）, rather than treated as a universal replacement part. Its construction combines the wooden core with traditional elements such as Samegawa, Tsuka-Ito, Hishigami, Menuki and Fuchi Kashira.
