Handcrafted Hirumaki-fū Raden Lacquered Saya with Natural Horn Fittings｜Koshirae-Grade Finish

This handcrafted saya features a Hirumaki-fū raden lacquer finish—an intricate decorative style inspired by the traditional Hirumaki (banded wrap) motif. Fine shell inlay particles (raden) are applied in alternating diagonal bands over a black lacquer base, producing a striking contrast of glossy black and shimmering raden textures. The silver-toned shell fragments shift between hues of blue, green, and iridescent highlights, giving the surface a dynamic brilliance reminiscent of woven starlight.

The koiguchi (mouth), kurigata (cord knob), and kojiri (end cap) are crafted from polished natural horn, providing both structural strength and subtle organic beauty. Every saya is individually handmade, ensuring precision, visual harmony, and lasting durability. The overall presentation is bold yet refined—ideal for mounting as part of a complete koshirae, or admired on its own as a lacquered art object.
