Clay Tempered Full Tang Shinken (真剣) | Abyssal Crimson Katana: TangGu (湯谷) Maru Blade (丸造) | Niku Geometry + TangGu (湯谷) Enryū Koshirae (炎龍拵)

This katana is hand-forged (Tezukuri / 手作り) from high-carbon modern steel (高炭素現代鋼) in the Maru-zukuri (丸造) construction style. The blade is clay-tempered (yaki-ire / 焼入れ) to produce a Sanbonsugi hamon (三本杉刃文), showcasing a bold and rhythmic temper pattern. The koshirae features a mokko-gata tsuba (木瓜形鍔) forged from tetsu (鉄地, iron) with openwork axe motifs (斧図透かし). The fuchi-kashira (縁頭) are made of hakudō (白銅), finely detailed with sea dragon motifs (海龍図). The habaki (鎺) is crafted from shakudō (赤銅), while the menuki (目貫) are made of hakudō (白銅), shaped in a stylised sword dragon design (剣龍図). The tsuka is wrapped in deep navy blue ito (濃紺柄糸) over natural white samegawa (白鮫皮), with hishigami (菱紙) forming a precise diamond pattern (菱組). The saya is finished in a glossy crimson red lacquer (赤漆塗り鞘) with a subtle sparkling effect, creating an ember-like shimmer under light. The sageo (下緒) is deep navy blue, tightly woven for durability and a refined finish.
