The “Kagechō” (影蝶, Shadow Butterfly) tsuba is a refined iron sukashi tsuba featuring an abstract butterfly motif expressed through elegant openwork forms. Rather than depicting the butterfly in a literal manner, the design captures its fleeting silhouette and graceful movement, evoking the image of a butterfly passing through light and shadow. Crafted from iron and meticulously hand-finished, the composition is formed by four flowing openings arranged around the central plate.
