The “Kuruma Sukashi” (車輪透) tsuba is a traditional iron sukashi tsuba inspired by the elegant form of a wheel, one of the most enduring motifs in Japanese decorative arts. The design features a series of evenly spaced openwork segments radiating around the guard, creating the appearance of a finely crafted wheel in motion. Symbolizing continuity, progress, and the cyclical nature of life, the wheel motif has been favored in Japanese craftsmanship for centuries.

Forged from iron and meticulously hand-finished, the composition balances structural strength with remarkable visual lightness.
